2024 FOE Gathering sparks collaboration and builds relationships

Friends, Together Again

The recent Friends of Estonia Gathering in Kingsport, TN, was a highly successful and fruitful meeting that united our dedicated Friends of Estonia group, committed to supporting God’s mission in Estonia.

Due to scheduling conflicts, some of our FOE members missed this year’s Gathering. Their absence was felt, and we hope to see them at next year’s event.

The event featured great presentations from esteemed presenters such as Ele Paju, Marjana Luist, Robert Tserenkov, Taavi Hollman, Artur Põld, Jeanie Reimer, Kim Reisman, and Carl Henry. These presenters shared valuable updates on the current status and plans for key institutions in Estonia, including the Estonia Church, the Lighthouse Children’s Center, Camp Gideon, the Sunbeam Children’s Center, World Methodist Evangelism, the Connecting Congregation Program, and the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary.

The gathering was marked by a spirit of collaboration, with attendees engaging in meaningful discussions, sharing insights, and building relationships to work together to support God’s mission in Estonia. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to playing a supportive role in the life of these vital institutions, particularly emphasizing the importance of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary in ensuring the long-term success of churches in Estonia, the Baltic region, and Eastern Europe.

The event served as a platform for fostering unity, cooperation, and continued efforts towards advancing these significant missions in Estonia.

Thanks to Pastor Randy Frye and First Board Street UMC for hosting the FOE. Also, thanks to Pat and Harry Turner and their volunteers for the wonderful meals and the moments of shared laughter that made our time together more special.

Here’s to hoping for a joyful reunion at the next Friends of Estonia Gathering in Spring 2025. The date and place are to be determined.
