August’s prayer request celebrates a new appointment and summer camps!
Robert Tšerenkov
District Superintendent, EMK
We thank God for the new local church pastor Hindrek Taavet Taimla and his wife Veronika, who will be serving Reeküla congregation. The congregation is really excited since for a while they did not have a pastor. Please pray for Hindrek Taavet as he has stepped into his new responsibilities.
We thank God for the churches in Reeküla and Kuressaare on the island of Saaremaa, as they both are celebrating 110 years of ministry. These two congregations were among the first Methodist churches that were established, as the Methodist movement started more than 110 years ago in Saaremaa. We thank God, that He has carried these churches through all the difficulties and different times and they are still sharing the light of Christ!
We thank God for the great camps that have taken place in July. Youth and kids have been blessed by wonderful camps.
Please pray for this weekend, as we have our church’s summer conference at the camp Gideon. Pray that this would be a special time of spiritual renewal and blessing.
Also please pray for the Annual Conference of the Estonian Methodist Church August 28-30. As we gather, both clergy and lay delegates, may this be a time for renewing the vision and new passion for ministry.
Thank you for your prayers! May the Lord bless you all and keep you safe!
Please pray for the seminary as we begin work next week after summer vacation.
Pray for wisdom for the commission’s committee as the seminary will soon interview prospective students.
Pray for students who are to defend their diploma papers in August. Usually, all defenses are done in June, however, due to issues related to the coronavirus a handful were given extensions to defend closer to graduation.
Pray for the graduating students that the Holy Spirit may guide them to new ministry opportunities and put in to practice what they have learned at school.
Pray for the beginning of the school year which begins the last week of this coming month.
Pray for the Estonian economy and families as their children will head back to school at the beginning of September.
We praise God for supporters who have supported us through these interesting times.

Thank you for continuing to be in prayer fellowship with us! I know it is so challenging time in the US currently and you are in our prayers because of the many issues troubling the US.
I am thankful for having had two weeks of vacation. It was a wonderful time to rest and relax – mostly at home, or in nature.
I am praying for wisdom to do my work in mission with partners in many countries where situations due to COVID-19 vary significantly.
Also, let’s continue to pray for the relationship between United Methodists in Russia and Ukraine.

Praise God, everything has been good in Estonia and we have almost forgotten the limitations. Each Sunday we have added more chairs to the church, and it looks now like before.
We praise that about 30 children have received warm lunch twice a week in our church and each time there has been a Bible story in addition. Let’s pray that the seed will grow in their hearts and they will continue to come to church.
In Children-home we had a great camp at the seaside. The weather was perfect and we all could enjoy the time together. Several of them would like to go to Christian camp this weekend. May the door be open and no restrictions from anybody.
Ele Paju with her family has taken a wonderful lead with the youth-ministry and very first-time teenage camp for 11-14 year old’s was in Viitka, last week. Several teenagers who did not come to church any more were engaged again through this camp and enjoyed it very much. Let’s pray for children and youth and new and creative ways to reach them.
Taavet Taimla said yes to become a local pastor in the oldest Estonian Methodist church (Reeküla), so next week he will be blessed to start a service.
August 6-9 will be the 16th summer conference. This time the number of participants has cut into 100. Several people who have always been there are quite sad, that the Lord will comfort them and next year all who want could participate again.
Many blessings to all of you, may the Lord will do new things and His saving grace be working around the World.

Pray for our leaders for wisdom to make the right decisions. In the economy and all other fields also.
Pray for the summer conference at camp Gideon (6 to 9 of August), this year with fewer participants (following rules for public events), but some events will be available through video conference. Pray for all participants and crew, that this time will be blessed and pray for their safety also.
Pray for our annual conference (28 to 30 of August), For God`s guidance and open hearts to understand His will.
Pray For our children and youth, the same prayer you send to us, that schools will start in a normal way, but safe.
I am thankful to God for the VBS that happened in July. There were many open items until the very last day before the VBS needed to start. Everything worked out well and God gave us many children for the blessing´s sign.
I am thankful to God for the youth camp in July. Joosep has organized the camp for several years before and it is one of the new traditions for the Agape youth group. They had in the camp their known friends and some girls went to the camp for the very first time.
I am thankful to God for Kai and Joosep Kunder. They got married in July. They are such a joy for the congregation. Of course, they both need prayers over their family and over their decisions in the new situation.
Please pray for me, what I could do to help start the new small groups in the church. I am feeling in my heart, it would be something that pulls more people out of their comfort zone and some people can stand up as the new leader.
Also, it would be something that can help the congregation to be more in communication. It is a long term idea and takes much energy to build the whole system. For now, I am asking to pray for wisdom for the start and doing some first moves that can bring some God’s blessing into the people’s lives.

We are thankful to God for the 3-days mini camp we had at the beginning of July. From the start, we weren’t sure we’d be able to go to summer camp, but thankfully it could still be organized. It was a blessed time for children to get away from their homes and spend time in a different environment.
We are grateful to God for our Oklahoma and Tennessee church partners for financial support so we could organize the camp and fun activities in summer.
We thank God for keeping our church members healthy.
Please keep in prayers the financial situation of the families who lost their jobs and also the financial stability of the church.

So, the summer camps are over, thank you for being with us in prayer.
From August 17 to August 21, we organize a city teen camp, which is often attended by unbelieving children, bless us so that the Spirit of God would bring salvation to these children.
From August 28 to August 29 we are running a School for Youth and Teen Leaders, pray for the wise organization of this event.
Also, now we are awaiting the arrival from Russia of one of the participants in the “Year for God” project, pray for the open border, and for the successful arrival of the participant in Estonia.
Thank you for supporting us with prayer.

Pray for God’s guidance and provision as we consider a new ministry opportunity. If this is the door He wants us to open, He is the one who can make it happen.
Pray for the Baltic Seminary as we start up again after the summer break. Pray that applications will come in from people with a real call to serve God.
Pray for the school where Lívia teaches, where relationships were strained by the stress of quarantine. Pray that God’s Spirit would bring healing and unity in working for what is best for the kids.
And of course, what we are all praying for: that a COVID-19 second wave will not develop so that we will be able to work in person!
