Here are the prayer concerns and requests from leaders of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary and the congregations in Estonia.

Robert Tšerenkov
District Superintendent, EMK
Dear Friends of Estonia!
Thank you so much for your prayers for the Methodist church in Estonia! I’m writing these words from the beautiful camp Gideon where we are having our Summer Conference right now. Some 170 people from different Methodist churches have gathered to pray, worship and study the Word of God! We feel the presence of the Lord in a special way, and it is great to be together as the Body of Christ! We are grateful to the Lord for the camp that is celebrating 30 years of ministry and we praise God for the wonderful camps we have had this summer!
Please pray for Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary and the leadership changes. Pastor Taavi Hollman has become an interim rector, and Dr. Külli Tõniste is on a sabbatical leave, after which she will continue teaching as a professor. Let us also pray for the new students that are applying right now and for the staff as they prepare for the new academic year.
We also need new pastors and please pray that more young people would get the calling from the Lord for the ministry.
Thank you for your prayers and your love for Estonia!
Please give thanks to the Lord for donors who have faithfully supported the Seminary;
Please give thanks to the Lord for bishop Christian Alsted and the leadership he gave to the Seminary as the chair for the Board of Trustees 2009-2023;
Please give thanks to the Lord for Külli Tõniste and the leadership she has given to the Seminary as rector and her sabbatical; pray for her and her family;
Please pray for me, as I have taken the interim rector`s responsibility in Seminary;
Please pray for the new students’ admission process and new Students, pray for those, who continue their studies;
Please pray for the new study year and August Study Session, which will take place on island Saaremaa, where methodist revivial broke off in 1907 and where first church was established 113 years ago in 1910
Please pray for staff and teachers as they prepare for new study year!
Thank you for all your prayers!

I have been appointed as a pastor to Reeküla Church in Saaremaa since the 18th of June and my first visit there was in July when we held a work day – where we cleaned the Church and did what was necessary, had our first board of directors meeting. Then on the 23rd of July, we celebrated Reeküla Church’s 113th anniversary and I was blessed as Reeküla´s new pastor. Pastor Hindrek Taavet Taimla will be ministering there till the end of the year with me and starting from the New Year I will be the only pastor of Reeküla´s Church. I am very grateful to God for God has spoken to me about Reeküla a long time before my appointment and Reeküla´s congregation has welcomed me with love, support, and care.
Please pray that this transition would go smoothly. That I would become what I need to become to serve Reeküla Church and community in the best way by God’s grace. We want to start with youth work again this Autumn – please pray God would give us all the wisdom and resources that are needed for reaching the youth so He could touch and change their lives. We also want to reach the local community and we need God’s wisdom and power for that.
I send you the warmest greetings from Reeküla´s congregation. We are grateful for your partnership!
Hello, dear praying friends!
We are praising God for the wonderful Summer conference and different youth activities.
Good time for summer children’s summer food-project, good co-work with Võru city government.
Some new people have come to church with a wish to minister as well – wisdom to grow the church.
Prayers for August:
- Viitka church anniversary and common worship service on Aug 27th
- Estonian re-Independence Day 20th Aug – that Estonia remains a free country, for our government, the living costs and taxes are rising rapidly, and God will help the church to support people in their troubles.
- During summer few girls became Christians in Chilren-home where Thea works – wisdom on how to continue ministry there.
- A new season of Children and youth ministry.
- A new season with Viitka-Räpina-Võru churches fellowship under the leadership of pastor Ele Paju
Greetings from the Lighthouse!
We are grateful to God for the wonderful summer camp with the Calvary UMC team and the city camp with the volunteers of Asbury Church. It was a wonderful time when the children could play, do crafts, sing, and hear the Word of God. Some children from the children’s center were also able to take part in church camps. We pray that the Word of God, which was sown again in the hearts of the children, will start to grow.
We asking for your prayers for our cook Svetlana, who has had health problems for the past six months. She really wants to continue working, but if her health does not improve, she will not be able to work at the same stake as before.
Have a blessed rest of the summer!
