Robert Tšerenkov
Superintendent
Dear friends,
I hope the new year has started well for you, and I wish all of you a blessed year! Thank you for your continuing prayers for the Methodist church in Estonia! We are so grateful for your friendship and prayers!
We are thankful to the Lord for the wonderful Christmas time when we saw many people at Christmas services, and there were many events where hundreds of kids and young people heard about the true meaning of Christmas. Please pray that these seeds planted in their hearts would bring good fruit.
In a few weeks, I will begin the charge conferences in different parts of Estonia. Please pray that they will go well and that there will be blessings as I travel.
Please pray, as I will teach a Homiletics course at the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary. Please keep our Seminary in your prayers as we await the accreditation report.
We will also pray for the terrible situation with the wildfires in California. May the Lord help all those affected and protect their lives and property!
Let us keep each other in our prayers!
In Christ,
Robert Tserenkov
Here are the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary’s prayer requests for January 2025:
Gratitude to God
- For the successful completion of the first semester
- For our students, teachers, and staff
- For each donor from the US and Estonia whose financial gifts helped us complete the fiscal year 2024.
Please Pray
- For the Quality Agency for Education (HAKA) accreditation team as they finalize their report. The document was initially due on December 27th, but they requested two more weeks to complete it. Pray that God blesses and guides them as they prepare their findings by January 13th.
- More donors and the necessary support are needed to develop the seminary further in 2025.

Estonian Language Youth and Räpina
Hello to all my friends, and Happy New Year!
God is doing powerful things in the churches of South Estonia and among the youth work of all over Estonia. December was very blessed for the churches of Räpina, Viitka, and Võru. Each congregation celebrated Christmas together, but we also gathered together with all three congregations. There is a blessing in unity. I am very grateful that God is leading a new pastor family in Räpina who is currently looking for a home and a job. Let’s pray that God will provide the best. In addition, a co-worker from Võru is going to Rapina, whose heart is to continue with Bible studies and the construction of the new building. Praise The Lord. My heart belongs to God and youth.
I experienced summer 2024 burnout in youth work. Before the New Year’s Eve camp, I received a message from God that I will heal you in the camp – “this will be a place of healing for you.“ And so it was! We had a wonderful winter camp, in which 60 participants took part. We started winter camps 6 years ago, and today, our young people are much stronger spiritually. They are full of fire, longing for God and His Kingdom. And if new ones join such a company, they also get changed. Five young people gave their life to Jesus during the camp. We saw many tears of joy, humor, testimonies of God’s work, and beautiful victories. On New Year’s Eve, we could sing songs of praise in the center of Paide and read Our Father’s Prayer while holding hands. Let us keep these young people in prayer and pray for the expansion of God’s work among the youth of Estonia
Blessings,
Ele
Tree of Life Church – Võru
Praise God for year 2024!
Võru Tree of Life church grew with 19 new members – 13 baptized as new believers. We had many wonderful times of fellowship, learning, growing, and ministering together. We also celebrated our 30th anniversary, and for this time, a group of 12 men from our church were renewing the cross, terrace, chimney etc. (Administrator’s note: you can see these projects here -> https://coda.io/@ove-palo/emkvoru )
The number of volunteers has grown: we have several different musicians and musical groups, wonderful children ministry – who just dedicated to read together Gospel of Luke, and a wonderful youth ministry – dedicated young people who love Jesus (2 young people from children’s home gave their lives to Jesus in youth winter camp) Food-bank ministry is reaching out to many families in need.
Prayers for new year:
- Help for people, as the costs are rising rapidly
- That the Light of Jesus will shine in very secular society
- Protection to our borders, that the terrible war in Ukraine will end
- Spiritual growth and discipleship to new believers
- Opportunities to evangelize and reach out to people who are open to the gospel
- That the church will influence society even more
- Protection and wisdom to Pastor´s family
In Christ,
Thea and Kaupo Kant

Pastor, Reeküla Church
Dear Friends,
I wish you all a Happy and Blessed New Year! I pray that this New Year will be full of God’s presence, goodness and kindness for you and your loved ones, full of God’s guidance and miracles in the ministry He has entrusted you with! It has been a privilege and a joy to walk with you! 🙂
December was a busy month with all the Christmas and Holiday Season in Church and home.
We met regularly with some local Reeküla people (not Christians) who wanted to sing with us in the Christmas Service, learned songs, got to know each other, and had fun while doing that.
We had a blessed Christmas Service, the Church was full of non-christians from Reeküla and other villages from Saaremaa. God really touched them. Non-Christians were crying when we were singing, they were crying when I preached, they were crying when I prayed. People that we sang with – they said that they couldn’t watch people´s eyes – because they were crying and they were afraid they´d start crying too. Locals thanked us after and said they had never been to a Service like that and they liked it very much. So did singers. We have already started to learn songs with them for Easter Service.
So please pray that God would continue His good work in our local singers and other local village people and that they might recognize Christ and His salvation and they might become part of our Congregation.
Please pray for us also as we have entered the New Year – that we would have ears to hear what God wants us to hear, that we would have a devoted heart for Him and we would walk the right path for us this New Year.
With blessings and love
