Baltic Theological Seminary Needs Our Help
June 15, 2025
Below, find the prayer concerns and requests from leaders of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary and the congregations in Estonia.
Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for the Methodist church in Estonia!
We are thankful to the Lord for the Annual Conference we had in May. We had productive meetings, looking back at the past year, discussing future plans and working on the church discipline. Please continue to pray for all of the 24 congregations, for all of the different ministries and clergy members of the Estonian Methodist Church, so that we could reach more people for Jesus Christ and be a blessing to our country!
Please pray for the Board of Trustees meeting and the graduation service of our Seminary.
Please pray for all of the upcoming camps and summer events, for all of the leaders and organizers, and for all of the participants. May these numerous events be a time of spiritual growth and refreshment for all who will take part.
Please pray for our clergy members, that they would find time to rest during summer.
Thank you for your prayers! God bless you!

Here are prayer needs from Children Center Lighthouse:
We thank God that most of the children completed the school year. The last month was very intense, as the children made their final efforts to improve their grades and pass their final tests.
We pray for the two children who could not complete their work on time and now have to do summer schoolwork. May they have the strength and focus to finish everything necessary in the short time they have to complete their grades.
We also lift up in prayer a teenage boy who stopped attending school last month. His academic performance and behavior have been very poor, and the school has decided he must repeat the year. We pray that during the summer, his bad habits and harmful friendships, especially with a group of peers involved with the police, would not take deeper root.
We thank God for the volunteers from Asbury Church—Teri, Adrian, and Donna—who helped in the children’s center during the last two weeks of May. We pray that they now find rest after an intense time in Estonia. We also thank God for the wonderful trip to Finland with the children, staff, and Asbury volunteers. We are grateful that God protected and helped everyone and that everything went well.
We pray for the children’s center summer camp, which will occur June 24–29 at the Gideon campgrounds. May God protect and shelter every participant, and may the seeds planted in the children’s hearts bear fruit in time. We also pray for the volunteers from Calvary Church who will serve in the children’s camp, for their safe travel and good health.
We pray for the children’s summer holidays—that God will watch over and protect them. We pray that many of them will desire and be able to participate in the church summer camps so they can hear God’s Word as much as possible during the summer.
God bless you!
Veronika
Marjana Luist (amazing layperson and Estonian church staff) helped add to this list of prayers and report on Reeküla.
Dear Friends,
Summer has begun, and I pray all of you will find time to rest and get restored from all the work that has been done.
In May, we held a joint worship service with our neighboring congregation, the Leisi Baptist Church. This has become a cherished tradition – at least once a year we visit each other to worship and fellowship together.
We just went bowling last weekend with your youth and children to finish our Sunday School and Youth Work´s season.
On June 8th, we were blessed to host a special concert of spiritual songs by three well-known Estonian musicians – Erkki-Sven Tüür, Jaak Tuksam, and Tõnu Timm. The idea for the concert came from Jaak Tuksam, who 50 years ago, during his studies, spent about a month and a half living in the Reeküla church. Pastor Johannes Seppel welcomed him and provided a place to stay during that time. While living in Reeküla church, Jaak wrote several songs that he now performed again in this meaningful concert. The event was deeply moving and brought together many people.
We also held the Estonian Methodist Church´s Annual Conference, where we attended with our congregation´s leaders.
At the beginning of May, on Mother’s Day, I was invited as Reeküla Church’s pastor to give a lecture in our Parliament, at a Mother´s Day Conference. It was the first time for me to speak in our Parliament. My lecture topic was “Can Christian values support building our families?”. The conference was a live and online event where people from all over Estonia could watch and rewatch it. Praise God for this opportunity – representing God, our Church, and our congregation was an absolute honor and blessing!
We are also looking forward to the visit of Retired Tennessee (USA) pastor Peter van Eys on June 15th. He will preach at our service, and we are excited and grateful for the opportunity to welcome him to Reeküla. Join us in prayer that his visit might be fruitful.
Please pray for our Summer Season also – that everyone from our congregation could have a good rest also. Every member of our congregation has contributed a lot to keep everything that we are doing. And they need a rest now. 🙂
Please pray for our children and youth throughout this Summer season. That they would be safe and that they wouldn’t forget what they have learned about God and that they would walk with Him through the coming months.
We ask you to join us in prayer for the following:
- Please pray for one of our church members who is struggling with serious mental health challenges, and for the daughter of another member, who is at risk of losing her eyesight.
- Pray that the light of Christ would reach the people of our region through the ministry of the congregation.
Thank you for standing with us in prayer. May God continue to guide and bless your ministries as well.
With love
Lemme (and Marjana)
