New Beginnings Methodist church in Tallinn

Find Mays prayer requests below that includes a good number of celebrations and some prayers for traveling mercies.

District Superintendent

Robert Tserenkov

Dear Friends of Estonia!

We have some praise reports.  We had a great time celebrating Easter and we are grateful for the resurrection of Christ. In a lot of cities in Estonia, they have started doing the Walk of the Cross, and the Good Friday service was broadcast from the Tallinn congregation on national television, so we praise the Lord that people who don’t usually come to church could hear the Gospel.

The second praise report is that last weekend the Estonian youth had their spring break camp, which went very well.

Another praise report is that our seminary is celebrating its 25th anniversary on May 23-24.  We pray that it would be a blessed time of celebrating what the Lord has done there.

Camp Gideon is preparing for the summer season, so we ask you to please join us in prayer for the work going on there now and for all that the Lord has planned for His people there this summer!

We are still doing the Charge Conferences in each congregation, so we ask for your continued prayers that those would go well and be a blessing to the churches.

General Board of Discipleship

Üllas Tankler

First I would mention our sabbatical project again – we with Meeli completed the handbook on preaching. Even as I listed this already in my last report, intensive work still continued. Now the material is in print, and we are excited about seeing the product somewhere around May 15, to be presented as part of Seminary 25 anniversary celebration. We are also grateful that funds have come together from different sponsors.

Several mission business trips are ahead, please pray for those.

Our daughter Liina needs prayers. She has had serious surgery and it is critical that things develop well. Another follow-up surgery will take place in a few months. Please pray for complete healing and recovery.

Thank you for this prayer fellowship!

We will miss the Friends of Estonia meeting this time, we miss all this special fellowship and bonding, and we pray that you all find good ways to support mission in Estonia as you gather.

Youth ministry

On May 11, in a small Methodist church in the city of Kunda, we want to organize a joint bike ride with local teenagers, pray that the weather is favorable for the trip and that as many teenagers as possible would respond to this bike ride. Friendship works wonders.

On May 12, we will organize a fair to raise funds for the children’s ministry. The season of summer camps begins, we wish to send as many children to these camps as possible, bless us to organize and conduct everything wisely so that we would have the necessary finances to support the children.

On May 20, let us go to the Bible study at Ümera school, pray that the Spirit of God would work through us when we talk about His love and demonstrate it.

On May 24, we want to have a joint evening of worship, on which we want to see young people from different churches, bless us so that Jesus could be present at this evening and heal inwardly many people.

One Mission Society & Seminary Academic Dean

Mark and Livia Nelson

We have a number of big prayer requests and would greatly appreciate you standing with us at this time.

A friend from Livia’s home church, Veronica, passed away yesterday after complications related to surgery to remove a tumor. She was in her mid-40’s. Please pray for her family

Livia received a message that her very dear friend from Tennessee, Harry Burger, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He is in his 70’s and discipled and encouraged Livia in a very significant way. They expect to have a treatment plan ready within the week and are doing all that is medically possible. Please pray with us that God will grant healing, as well as providing strength for Harry, his wife Margie, their son and grandkids.

On the opposite end of the emotional rollercoaster, this Friday will be Katarina and Martin’s wedding. Prayers of blessing are very welcome.

Baltic Theological Seminary

Douglas Childress

We pray that the Easter service went well and people will connect with Christ and His church.
Please pray the seminary’s Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Seminary which occurs on May 24th. Pray for safe travels (some are coming from Asbury as well), that it will be a blessing for those who attend, and that God may be glorified by showing how He has been at work in this school over the last 25 years.
