2022 Youth Leader Training

As planning begins for summer and real help is underway for Ukraine refugees in Estonia here are our prayer requests…

Robert Tšerenkov
District Superintendent, EMK

Dear friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers for the Methodist church in Estonia during these uncertain times!

In spite of all that is going on in the world, we had a wonderful Easter celebration, that reminded us of Christ’s victory over sin and death. We also had a special Easter service in the Ukrainian language for the refugees in Tallinn and a special children’s Easter event. Let us pray that the message of the risen Savior would bring all who participated to a close relationship with the loving God.

Please pray for the work with the refugees. The numbers increase and a lot of our congregations get involved in helping in different ways.

Let us continue to pray for peace in Ukraine and in Europe in general. There is much fear and anxiety.

Please pray for all of the church conferences that are taking place right now. May they be a time of encouragement for the local congregations.

Thank you for your prayers!

Küllie Tõniste
Rector, Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary

After war images from Bucha and Mariupol, it is hard to find words to pray. Pray for Lord to have mercy on those suffering and on those committing such horrendous crimes!

And pray for security in the Baltic region. Pray for strength for volunteers caring for the refugees.

Pray for the 10 students planning to defend their diploma papers and graduate to have the resolve and discipline to do the academic work.

Pray for those who are weighing their call to ministry in the heart. Pray that we find the students who will be the future leaders in the churches.

Pray for the health of faculty and staff. Many people have been sick with viruses. We are thankful to God for their endurance and love for the seminary.

And thanks to God for our faithful supporters at home and abroad. We thank God for you every day.

Ele Paju
Estonian Language Youth and Räpina

We are very grateful to God for the successful and abundantly blessed training of young leaders. We had a special weekend together with young leaders in Tallinn, we are intensively inventing a new generation with the help of the best specialists.

2022 Youth Leader Training

God has carried our youth team through some difficult times, let’s pray that God will strengthen and keep us on.

Let’s bless and pray for all the young people who are graduating. Several youth leaders are in the midst of new searches. May God give wisdom!

There are several summer camps in the planning, we need God’s leadership, equipment, and wisdom. Summer is a special time for investing in young people. Let’s pray that the leaders be able and equipped with heavenly freshness.

  • Thank you for your prayers! Thank you everyone for praying for peace. It is a very big deal these days if people can freely wake up in the morning and get ready for worship services in churches. Thank God we have peace in Estonia and people can live regular daily lives.
  • Please pray for graduates in 2022. Here are many of them in Agape church´s youth group. Please pray for everyone can do all tests and get everything done on time.
  • Thank God for children in Agape church. We have many families going to church with children. It gives so much joy and excitement for adults in the church. Plus it makes church feel like a true family coming to worship on Sunday morning.

I thank God for many wonderful connections with sisters and brothers in faith and ministry in Estonia, Europe, Ukraine, Russia, and in the United States.

My main prayer is for peace in Ukraine.

But I am especially concerned about the future of our church. Suddenly it seems so easy to just leave the UMC and discard the incredible value of connectionalism that we have experienced in so many ways over so many years.

Personally, I need prayers for complete recovery from covid. The effects are draining me of energy, and it seems very difficult to regain full strength again.

Also, I pray for special travel mercies later in May when we go with UM News Service and UMCOR team to visit refugee ministries in countries neighboring Ukraine.

I wish everyone participating in the online Friends of Estonia meeting God’s blessing. I am so sad that on this day when you meet I have to be in the missionary commissioning event in Belfast and fully engaged, with no opportunity to get connected with FOE meeting.

Thank you for your prayers!

Kaupo and Thea Kant
Tree of Life Church – Võru

The time is difficult and many times we are fighting with the thoughts and fears, if … So please pray that we will not fear, that the peace will remain, the war will end, and love towards service will grow.

Praises: Youth ministry in Võru has grown: A group of 15+ young people are learning Christian basics in the Alpha course on Sunday afternoon. One girl committed her life to Jesus. Please pray for the young man who has come through our basketball team and is eager to learn, even though some of his other friends stopped coming. The youth Worship team started and has served already during youth evening and Easter service. Teenage youth nights have been really blessed and new eagerness is among youth.

Also “old” youth group gathered for the former youth-leaders birthday and several came after some time to church.

Video healing prayer nights have started once a month to stream the special services from Tallinn and people have experienced the Holy Spirit’s presence

Special Easter Service with friends from Ukraine (2 families with children) with whom we are trying to build a relationship. Pray that they will come to know Jesus. One lady become a member of Võru church, she was formerly Jehova’s witness, but now is believing Jesus.

Pray for Pentecost, to be a time of rejoicing and refilling with Holy Spirit!

Pray for wisdom to make the right decisions for the church and for the community.

Pray for our Sunday school children and teachers, for youth and youth leaders, for our confirmation group, and for Bible study groups. Pray for their spiritual growth.

Pray for a good ending to the school year, both for small and big students and teachers.

Vitali Baranov
Generation2 Youth Ministry

Thank you for your support.

We have begun to actively prepare for summer camps.

We have outlined the main theme of the camp and are now working on the content of the camp.
Bless us in prayer so that God will give us a device in organizing, finances, conducting masterclasses, seminars, and worship services.

We believe that a summer camp is a special place and time for meeting with God, we pray for God to touch the hearts of young people.

On May 28 there will be an evening of worship, we wish to meet the support of the Holy Spirit this evening.
Please pray for outreach activities for the refugees. From our church, the team participates in their implementation.
We believe that God is able to heal the hearts of children and parents who find themselves in such a difficult life situation with His love.

God bless you.

  • Seminary teachers have a number of training seminars in May. Pray that they would be blessed and lead to real growth in our teaching abilities.
  • Pray for my son Karl as he does his high school final exams. School has always been a challenge for him.
  • Pray for Lívia & me as we set up our house for the summer season, that God would provide the resources and energy. Pray also for developing relationships with our non-Christian neighbors.
