December 2024 Prayer Requests
December 9, 2024
Below, find the prayer concerns and requests from leaders of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary and the congregations in Estonia.
Dear friends,
- Thank you so much for your prayers for the Methodist church in Estonia!
- The new season of Sunday School classes and youth ministry has begun. Please pray for all the children, young people, and leaders in different congregations as they grow in their faith. We want to see more young people come to know the Lord. Please pray for these ministries and especially for those congregations without children’s or youth ministry right now.
- Please pray for the congregations in Räpina and Kärsa, which need pastors. Please pray for them in this time of transition and that more people will respond to the call to ministry.
- Please pray that the pastor’s gathering on October 18 – 19 will be a time of spiritual renewal and encouragement for all of our clergy.
Thank you for your prayers and support! May God bless you!
In Christ,
Robert Tserenkov

prayer requests for October 2024
Gratefulness to God
- For the new rector, dr. Laur Lilleoja; his new office has been blessed and guided by God; he has had a smooth transition into his new job;
- For Laur`s vision, fresh ideas, inspiration, and good leadership to the whole team;
- For the about 20 first-year students who recently started.
Please pray:
- For the Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA) accreditation team. May God bless and guide them while they read the presented self-assessment document and prepare for the site visit on November 12th-13th;
- Continually for Laur Lilleoja and his family;
- For the student body that they will find the necessary resources to cover the tuition fee and that God will give them strength not to quit;
- The seminary’s present financial situation is that we have lost some funding due to disaffiliation. Please pray that we may find and get all the necessary support to cover all the financial needs for 2024.
Thankfully,
Yours in Christ,
Taavi Hollman

Jõhvi Pastor / Sunbeam / Camp Gideon
We want to thank you for the prayers. It’s a big support!
In Sunbeam, everything is good. We praise God for all our clients. There are about 120 kids. Thanks to our work, their parents can work and receive help. This year, we built a children’s playground. Thanks to this, we don’t need to go far with children’s playgrounds, but it’s on our territory.
We thank God for the summer at Camp Gideon. Around 1,000 people visited the camp this summer. We had six children’s camps and a Methodist Church conference. Our Theological Seminary held a seminar this August.
We renovated the outside toilets and built shower rooms. Thanks to Harry Turner and his team. Thanks to Catryn and Russel Adam for the help. We did the fire system in the hotel with Norwegian help. And today, we are renovating the big dining room.
Also, the church in Jõhvi opened a rehabilitation center in Sirgala. Today, we have a leader there and one guy there. In the soup kitchen, in Sillamäe, we feed 20 people every day. The grocery store gives us food, and we give it to the people. Today, around 500 people receive this. They are Ukraine people, families with many kids, and families from Sunbeam.
We ask you to pray for all this.
Thank you.
God bless you.

Children’s Lighthouse Director
Hello from Lighthouse!
September began with a wave of viral illnesses at the children’s center, affecting many children and several staff members. Thanks to God, everyone is doing better now!
We are very grateful for the generous donations of food, clothes, and school supplies from the center since the beginning of September. We are also thankful for the opportunity to collect food from the Sunday church cafeterias to bring to the center on Mondays. All of this support is a great help to our work at the children’s center. We pray for all our supporters!
We pray that the teenagers in the children’s center will be more eager to participate in the youth events at church. Our greatest wish is that the children receive physical help and come to know God!
God bless you!

Tree of Life Church – Võru
Dear praying friends!
Our great joy is that exactly 30 years ago, there was a dedicated Võru Methodist church – this time a small private house with two rooms (a little chapel and a little office room), but about 200 excited people gathered behind the fence to enter the new church. The words of the African Bishop (What God has opened, nobody can shut have helped the congregation during different times) 10 years ago, we gathered behind the same doors to dedicate the extension and fully renovated rooms! God has been faithful!
We are thankful that our faithful congregation members have completed almost all the renovation plans!
- Please pray for the worship and prayer evening on Saturday, where young people will lead us in worship, and there will be an opportunity for prayer.
- Superintendent Robert Tserenkov will preach for the worship service, and our city members and other leaders will be invited. After that, the Gospel Choir will perform a concert. They also desire to pray and worship close to the Russian border to pray for peace.
- Pray for small groups for discipleship.
- Pray for youth ministry.
- Pray for children’s ministry, as several children from children’s homes attend
- Pray for one young lady who accepted Christ 2 weeks ago but has a brain tumor – she is eager to grow in Christ – that the Lord will make her strong and heal her.
