March 2026 Prayer Requests
March 5, 2026
Below, find the prayer concerns and requests from leaders of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary and the congregations in Estonia.
Gratitude to God
- For our new part‑time staff member, Joanna Volkova, who is primarily assistingwith translations. She is a dedicated Christian actively involved in missions both in Estonia and beyond.
- For the development of the music ministry in worship, which has grown under the leadership of Beno Kudrin, who joined us last autumn.
- For the successful 2025 fiscal year; thanks be to God for all Estonian and U.S. supporters.
- For our alumnusand newly appointed research fellow, Andrus Kask, who visited the Nazarene Theological College (NTC) in Manchester last December together with Rector Laur Lilleoja. Andrus presented his research on the life of John Witt—a key figure in the spread of Methodism in Latvia and Lithuania in the 20th century, whose life and ministry had not been thoroughly studied before. Opportunities for further cooperation with NTC were discussed, including joint academic initiatives, study exchanges, and research.
- Staff from the Lutheran Theological Institute and our Theological Seminary met on 29 January to review the successful implementation of the cooperation agreement and to set new goals for advancing the quality of theological education and promoting ecumenical fellowship. Pray that the joint continuing education programbeginning in March, aimed at preparing church family counsellors, would be fruitful.
Please Pray
- For the students preparing for the upcoming field tripin Rome next month.
- For the new open course Media in Christian Ministry, where lecturer Alla Novozheninawill explore the characteristics and role of Christian media within the global mass‑media landscape, guide participants in discovering an artistic and thematic language for their unique ministry, and help them organise the creation of a competitive media product in a rapidly changing global information environment.
- For the new open course Foundations of Church Growth, where BMTS teacher Ago Lilleorg will shed light on the nature and biblical aims of the church, introduce the historical principles of church growth, and equip students with methods for assessing their congregation’s growth and health, as well as for actively developing it.
January was long and full of work and activities.
I am thankful to God for the teams and workers. I thank God for the new rooms of the Võru food bank, run by the Võru congregation. At the opening, the mayor of Võru confirmed that we are a valued partner to them. May God keep and strengthen our relationships. With the congregation we long to serve, we aim to support the community more. God has begun to bring former school teachers into our congregation. Currently, 3–4 new people have started attending the church. We ask for wisdom in starting small groups.
Let’s pray for health. Right now, Valli, Liidia, and Toomas are in Võru hospital. We continue to pray for Pastor Enno’s health and for Pastor Andrus’s wife, Leena, to recover. Leena’s operation went well and, according to the doctors, the tumor had no metastases. Radiation therapy has now begun. May the Lord heal and help powerfully.
In February, we will celebrate the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. Let’s pray that God’s messages will also be spoken at national and local jubilee events. Our land and people need God!
Let’s pray that our workers would serve in God’s spirit and joy.
I am sincerely grateful to God for your prayers.
In God’s grace,
Ele
