Below, find the prayer concerns and requests from leaders of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary and the congregations in Estonia.
Dear friends,
First of all, I would like to wish you a blessed Advent season as we look forward to the wonderful celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior! May our hearts be filled with much joy this special time of the year!
I’m thankful to the Lord for our military chaplains. On November 20th, the Chaplaincy of the Estonian Armed Forces celebrated its 30th anniversary, and our clergy Raivo Nikiforov (major) received a medal of honor for his contribution to the establishment of the chaplaincy in Estonia. Please continue to pray for our chaplains in the military, prisons, and rehabilitation centers.
Right before the 1st Advent, we had a gathering to thank the youth leaders from different Methodist churches across Estonia. It was a night of much joy and fun, but also encouragement to keep reaching young people for Christ. Please continue to pray for the youth leaders team.
On November 29, the Women’s Ministry of the Estonian Methodist Church held an Advent gathering. They also had a wonderful time encouraging each other in their faith, and elected the new committee members and the new leader, Evelin Toodo. Please pray for her as well as for the rest of the team and the ministry for women.
Please pray for the Advent and Christmas season. As people in Estonia are more open to the faith at this time, let us pray that many would be reached with the message of God’s love, expressed in Christ’s coming to this world. Thank you for your faithful prayers for the Methodist church in Estonia!
May you all have a blessed Advent and Christmas!

Dear Friends,
As we have entered a beautiful and miraculous Christmas Season, I pray that each one of you would have a personal encounter with our King Jesus, Immanuel and also your families and friends.
We have had a busy November and the beginning of December in Reeküla. We had the privilege of hosting the Estonian Methodist Church Board meeting in our Church. We had a nice lunch together, shared our joys and hardships.
We had a youth meeting in November, and one new boy from the village attended. He came again this time and loves to hang out with us.
We have regular song practices again with some friends from the village for the Christmas Service. I have been taking time to visit our Church members and to spend time with them in fellowship and prayer. Especially our older members need it because Estonian winter is cold and dark, they stay home and have few chances to communicate with people. We have had a blessed time together!
I was also invited to the Estonian Methodist Youth workers’ Thanksgiving dinner since I am holding youth events in Reeküla. It was a beautiful time, and it was encouraging to hear and see what God is doing among youth in Estonia.
I had one free weekend when my husband Joel and I visited the Kohtla-Järve Russian Methodist Church, where Joel preached, and I had the privilege of singing in Russian.
Please pray that God could touch youngsters, adults, and old people in Reeküla during this Christmas Season. Pray that singing songs about God and His love with non-Christians again would touch their hearts and lives. Please pray for our old people who live alone and cannot move much in the dark, cold, and slippery winter. Please pray for our sick and weak members to be fully healed and restored. Please pray also for me since I will be sharing next week on Estonian National Radio Vikerraadio morning devotions from Monday to Sunday. Pray that God would give me His words and His heart to share with the Estonian people during Christmas time.
Have a wonderful Christmas Season!
With love

We started together with Räpina, Viitka and Võru congregations’ workers in the programme “Stronger Congregations”. We meet once a month with the leaders of different areas to learn, be in a fellowship and find out more about the congregations’ healthy situation and wholesome development with the help of materials from Multiplication Network. This day together gave freshness in unity, reminded us of what is important and gave us a desire to meet the next time.
All three congregations are in the process of renovations both inside and out. We are praying for finances, wisdom and being led in this. In the picture, there is Andrus, the pastor of Kärsa congregation with his wife and helpers in preparing the building for winter.
We are also praying for Enno, the pastor of Viitka congregation. He was diagnosed with a cardiac valve failure. Further tests will take place in January. Let’s pray for good health, the best doctors and strength!
Let’s continuously pray for Räpina congregation’s pastor Andrus’ wife Jelena, who is finished with her chemo treatment and an operation is coming.
On the first Advent, Viitka congregation’s pastor and musicians served the community in lighting the Advent candle. Praying that the people of Viitka village will find their way to church on Christmas Eve.
On the second Advent, there was a baptism of 4-month-old Leeni in Võru church, which brought to congregation new people who were very open to Christ. Let’s pray for Leeni’s godparents and for their families, that they could find their way to God.
December is filled with bigger and smaller events. Let’s pray that God would be the center of all of our activities, letting the light shine through us.
We thank all our dear friends and prayer partners.
May God guide us all during this wonderful Christmas time with His presence and love.
In the name of Võru, Viitka and Räpina congregations,
Ele Paju
Here are the Children’s Center prayer requests:
Please pray for Siiri, who is cooking for the children this year — she has been sick at home for a month with a severe inflammation in her leg, and the original cause is still unknown. We thank God that she is already doing better, but she still needs prayers for complete healing.
We thank God for Teri from Asbury Church , who came to the children’s center this week. During this busy time, when the children’s center staff also have to take over Siiri’s duties, Teri has been a great help.
We thank everyone who prayed for Riine, who once volunteered at the children’s center. A few months ago, while she was pregnant, she became paralyzed and spent a long time in an induced coma. Thanks to God, she can now already eat liquid food on her own and, with support, take a few steps by herself, but she still needs prayers for complete healing.
We pray for all the Christmas events, that the true Christmas message would touch the hearts of the children and their family.
Thank you for your prayers and support! Blessed Advent season!
