Below, find the prayer concerns and requests from leaders of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary and the congregations in Estonia.
Dear friends,
Thank you for your prayers for the Methodist church in Estonia!
In the month of January I visited all four Methodist congregations in Tallinn. I was glad to see, that all of those churches are getting stronger and are growing. Please continue to pray for those churches in the capital of Estonia, where more than a third of the entire population live, so that they would be effective in reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Please pray as we have charge conferences in Sillamäe, Narva and Haapsalu this month. Especially please pray for the church in Narva, a border town with Russia, where the congregation has struggled for several years already with decline in attendance and financial hardships. It is not an easy place for the new young pastor Jaroslav Ivanov and his family to serve. Please lift them up in prayer.
Please pray for a gathering of a group of people interested in church planting. We will gather in February to pray and strategize how to continue planting churches in strategic places in Estonia, so that we could see more people coming to the Lord and the Methodist church would grow.
Thank you for your prayers and God bless you!
In Christ,
Robert Tserenkov
Here are the Seminary’s thanksgivings and prayer requests for February 2025:
Gratitude to God
- For the initial report from the Quality Agency for Education (HAKA) accreditation team, which was unexpectedly positive. This greatly encourages us as we await the final decision by the end of February.
- For the closer cooperation with the Lutheran Theological Institute. On January 24th, a cooperation agreement was signed, laying the foundation for collaboration in research, development activities, and continuous education training (please see attatched picture).
Prayer Requests
- For the new language study initiative, that it may bless many by improving their Estonian language skills while also generating additional income for the Seminary’s budget.
- For the ongoing discussions on restructuring the Seminary into a foundation, making it easier to secure funding for research, EU grants, and donor contributions—while ensuring that the church remains the owner of the foundation.
- For the long-term vision of expanding into advanced training and micro-degrees.
- For finding more donors and securing the necessary support for the Seminary’s development in 2025.
With gratitude,
Yours in Christ,
Laur Lilleoja
Hello dear friends,
I send you warm greetings and prayer requests. January has been very busy. We have been able to start the year in prayer and unity with several different teams.
The Estonian Food Bank has 400 volunteers a week across Estonia. On average, 17,000 people in need receive a package per week, which is 1.3% of Estonia’s population. The state has made the financing system very complicated. Lets pray for a new strategy for the Võru food bank, more food and peace for those in need.
May God bless the Räpina congregation as they resume Wednesday Bible classes. Lets pray for God’s help and guidance to Tiit. May Gods will be done in Võru, Viitka and Räpina congregations. Lets pray healing for pastor Enno.
Youth work has continued actively after the winter camp. Several young people have started as a team member immediately after the camp, started going to church, etc. Benjamin realized that young people need instruction and help even between camps. He formed a team and started teaching the Gospel of Mark to young people on social media. Several young people in Tartu were transformed in the winter camp. So we will now gather together across Estonia on February 15 in Tartu to celebrate Valentine’s Day and boost Tartu youth work.God is doing mighty things. All glory belongs to Him!

Dear Praying friends!
The weather in Estonia has been unusually warm. The new year has started with new energy and dreams of ministering in God´s Kingdom.
We had a wonderful prayer service during Alliansse Prayer week; young people had a great time in youth camp, and new members were added to the youth team. Alpha course started, and the Disciple Bible-study new group is about to start today. Children were challenged to read the Gospel of Luke every day. So, this year´s focus is on discipleship.
Prayers for February:
- Alpha course that some new people will give their lives to Jesus
- Youth ministry – continuous growth and desire to follow Jesus and be light among other kids
- 9.02 – Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania will disconnect from Russian electricity; pray that it will go peacefully, and electricity and all security will remain stable
- Estonian Independence Day celebrations – that our people will turn their hearts to God
- As Võru church has grown numerically in the last 2 years – all new believers will become strong in faith and wisdom on how to go forward.

The Lyrics you would hear if this picture had sound:
Wake up Estonia.
Wake up sleepers.
Lord, wake up the fire inside us.
Wake up Estonia
